The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) construction road closure along the northbound and southbound lanes of State Highway 36 (SH36) from US-90A to Avenue J has been delayed.  The City has received notification from TxDOT that the SH36 road closures between Avenues H and J previously scheduled for September 11-14 has been cancelled due to rain.  The closures and rerouting of SH36 traffic is now tentatively scheduled from 7 PM Friday, September 18 to 6 AM Monday, September 21 and from 7 PM Friday, October 9 to 6 AM Monday, October 12, weather permitting.

The detour routes off US-90A and SH36, utilizing 2nd Street, Houston Street, and Avenue J, remain unchanged. Triple B Services, TxDOT’s contractor on the project, has the responsibility of traffic control, including the placement of safety devices, during both closures.
