Karaoke Night. The mic is open to all ages and awards will be given to the winner in each category.August 7 welcomes back “YOU TAKE THE STAGE” KARAOKE NIGHT for the second year, giving our concert guests – many probably just a lucky break away from stardom – the chance to “carry their own key” while having fun.  The mic is open to all ages and awards will be given to the winner in each category (ages 8 and under, 9-12, 13-18, and 19 and over).  DJ’s Unlimited will provide the background and lyrics and concert guests will provide the “stars” for the evening.

Mark, originally a trumpet player, and a versatile musician, got the “dueling pianos” bug after visiting Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans and enjoying their dueling pianos show.The July 31 Friday Night Concert will introduce MARK SMITH & HIS TEXAS BLAZING DUELING PIANOS to the summer concert series.  Song requests and audience participation is encouraged, including sing-a-longs.  Mark, originally a trumpet player, and a versatile musician, got the “dueling pianos” bug after visiting Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans and enjoying their dueling pianos show.  A year later, he was playing at Pat O’Brien’s and freelancing in Houston, College Station, Corpus Christi, Galveston, Las Vegas, and Lake Charles.

Subsequent Friday Night Concerts includes “You Take the Stage’ Karaoke on August 7, the MoFo Party Band on August 14, and the Sugarland Brass Company on August 21.  The August 14 and August 21 concerts are generously sponsored by Bill Butler.

Considered a serious party band thanks to the talents of their dynamite lead vocalists,  Caviar Gray and Nicole Nickerson, Reginald Wheatley on the drums,  keyboardist Reginald Nelson, and Terry Jenkins on the electric bass, the Level One Band will wow Friday Night Concert guests as they perform Motown, vintage soul, disco, classic rock, jazz, and pop.  THE ROYAL TEMPTS who will have a feature performance during the concert, have performed together for more than 30 years sharing stages with such greats as the Commodores, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Bobby Womack, will have a feature performance during the concert.
